How we Work

FARQ utilizes advanced software to produce three -dimensional designs. We interact with the various specialists involved in a project, as well as with builders and clients, in a working way known as BIM (Building Information Modeling)

Alfonso Ferrer is the only one of the three founder partners of the firm that remains to this day, and directs all the projects developed by FARQ. Born in Chile, in 1990 he graduated as an architect at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Catholic University of Valparaiso, Chile. In 1994, after undertaking studies in Design Sciences and Energy Efficiency at the University of Sydney Australia, he returned to Chile to create FERRER Architects, convinced of the need to implement modeling three-dimensional computer aided design tools in their design process, thus forming a collaborative and highly specialized professional team. Over the time this three-dimensional and collaborative working method has been renamed as BIM, an acronym for ‘Building Information Modeling’. His holistic conception of human behavior and the way it interacts with the environment has been the key factor both, for the collaborative management model of FARQ projects and in for his public activity, fully committed to the common good.

Mario Ferrer was born in Chile. In 1999 he gained his architect degree at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Catholic University of Valparaíso, Chile. Since 1997 he has been dedicated to the development of architecture and urban planning projects for residential, public facilities, industry and mining facilities. He highlights his experience in Urban Planning, developing various projects both, for the Municipality of Rancagua city and for the Ministry of Housing, in matters related to Territorial Planning Instruments updating processes, improvement of neighborhoods and quality management plans. His passion for music and design, together with his expert mastery of various design software, make him also an expert BIM Project Manager, an acronym for ‘Building Information Modeling’, capable of coordinating highly complex projects with great flow of data. In 2012, he finally joined FERRER Arquitectos as a Partner, and since then he has been in charge of leading the FARQ design studio as a Principal.
